Istanbul Airport Lost and Found
Have you lost personal items within IST airport’s premises? From luggage to small belongings such as watches or wallets, the airport staff carefully collects and hands over lost items at designated offices to help owners retrieve them. Therefore, if you suspect that your belongings are still within the airport, your first step should be to proceed to the Istanbul Airport Lost and Found Offices.
Lost and Found at IST Airport Terminal
The airport’s Lost and Found Offices handle all lost items within the terminal, the security control zones, and the parking facilities. There are two Istanbul Airport Lost and Found Property Offices: one located landside, in the pre-security area, and one airside, after security control. Both facilities are open around the clock.
Travelers who haven’t yet checked in can access the landside office to search for their lost property. The IST Lost and Found Office can be found next to the Yotel facility (located landside, not the airside facility), directly opposite the check-in area R and Entrance 7. On the other hand, the airside Lost and Found Office is situated opposite Gate C3, in the zone after passport control.
The lost and collected items are stored in the airport’s warehouse, which operates from Monday to Friday between 09:00 am and 04:00 pm. Therefore, you must inform the Lost and Found Office in advance to retrieve your belongings at a specified time. Alternatively, they can be sent to you upon request and agreement with the office staff. Expectantly, delivery fees will apply in that case.
Our Tip: You can fill out the Lost and Found Property Inquiry Form directly through Istanbul airport’s website, submit it, and receive updates about your lost item.
Lost and Found Service Charges
If you intend to use the Lost and Found service to retrieve your lost property, please keep in mind that charges apply for both the service and storage. The charging fees are calculated on a daily basis (every 24 hours), starting from the second day. That’s when items are registered in the Lost and Found Property Record. Hence, if you retrieve your property within 24 hours of its collection, you won’t be charged any fees.
